You need to start by clarifying what skills are needed to be effective in Your target role, or the ‘Criteria’ for measuring a person’s performance - these are the skills required for the role you have in mind, eg Teamwork, Problem Analysis, Leadership, etc.
Your organisation may already have a set of Criteria for your target role, and if not, you will need to establish these. A&DC works with an extensive list of 35 Behavioural Criteria (Competencies) and suggest that you keep to a practical number, maybe around 8 and ensure they are clearly related to the target job role.
To view A&DC's Criteria, download our Criteria Exercise Matrix here.
Organisations with their own Competencies will need to map them against the 35 Criteria that we work with in our AC-EXS range. We provide a competency mapping framework in the AC-EXS Catalogue or you can download the framework here.
